Transitory Fish is an honouring of aquatic origins, following the continuity of body and water. Rhythmic and open gestures dissolve boundaries, revealing the malleability of flesh, the constancy of bone, the receptivity of water, and the transmission of vibration.
When my body is touched by water, immersed in water, a resonance and transfer of information occurs. I feel the continuity of all relations, held in a space of reciprocity. I feel known in the unknown—open to a journey of learning, transformation, emergence, and return.
The transitory fish carries the evolutionary echo of our earliest ancestors, those who first crossed from water to land. It is a symbol of passage, adaptation, and origins—an ever-shifting reminder of the thresholds we inhabit and the transformations we carry in our bones.
As I witness water flow through my hand, I re-member our collective transcestors, who live in my present body and future bodies, pulsing through like tide as I touch life.
